  • Executive Director, Indian Hills Camp

    The essential duties and job functions of the position are as follows:

    Oversight
    1. Regular meetings with the board, assist in analyzing problems and needs of the camp
    2. Regular meetings with board sub-committees (Facilities, Finance, Personnel)
    3. Responsible for the Executive Director’s Report, Facilities Report, Finance Report, and
    Personnel Report at board meetings
    4. Accountable and submissive to the board
    5. May serve on the board while the Executive Director position is held
    6. Responsible for maintaining and upholding written policies and agreements with Rough
    Acres Foundation, including new building projects (e.g. dining hall/multi-purpose building),
    and all facility compliances and regulations (e.g. water system)
    7. Oversee, support, and evaluate divisional camp directors (Director of Guest Experience, Director
    of Site Operations, Director of Development)
    8. Hire and supervise excellent camp staff and volunteers that will work hard and make Indian
    Hills the best camp it has potential for
    9. Recruit, screen, hire, orientation, and review of personnel
    10. Plan and schedule staff training regarding camp policies, procedures, etc.
    11. Hold and maintain the Mission and Vision of IHC
    12. Agree to Organizational Structure
    13. Make sure staff living on site follows camp rules and lives together in reasonable
    harmony

    General Camp Operation
    1. Assist in coordinating the camp schedule and dates for the year
    2. Host rental groups and facilitate “off-season” camping
    3. Assist divisional camp directors with counselor and new group/church/school
    recruitment
    4. Be involved with a regular evaluation of all programs, camps, and employees
    5. Uphold camp policies and regulations

    Engaging the Community
    Work with divisional camp directors to:
    1. Promote usage and rental of camp facility
    2. Encourage church and volunteer participation in the camp experience
    3. Coordinate maintenance of the website and social media
    4. Explore new ways to get groups into IHC
    5. Present new ideas for marketing and camp usage
    6. Develop ways to activate new donors
    7. Make sure IHC has as good of a relationship, as possible, with the neighbors

    Camp Experience
    Work with divisional camp directors to:
    1. Create a team to lead and communicate at camps and programs with excellence and
    confidence
    2. Lead, facilitate, and delegate the ministry and worship for camps that is Biblically sound and
    transformative for children’s lives
    3. Work with staff to develop programs and curriculum which make the most sense to achieve
    the mission and vision statement for IHC

    Business Management
    Work with divisional camp directors to:
    1. Create the financial budget and keep to the budget
    2. Maintain and assist in the development of financial and administrative at risk management
    procedures
    3. Oversee all computer network and physical data security
    4. Oversee emergency response procedures
    5. Oversee county compliance and inspections
    6. Oversee and ensure proper internal controls in the areas of AP, AR, and other financial
    records
    7. Minimize camp expenses and increase camp income
    8. Manage personnel records, benefits, and employee handbooks
    9. Supervise and coordinate overall administrative activities for the office, camp store, and
    facilities
    10. Ensure adherence to written financial policies and procedures with Rough Acres Foundation
    11. Ensure adherence to the terms of our Major Use Permit

    Other
    1. Attend annual camping conference for personal and work growth
    2. Be a member of CCCA (Christian Camp and Conference Association) and/or a similar
    organization
    3. Be willing to take classes in leadership and other related subjects
    4. Special projects and assignments as assigned or requested

    $110,000 annual salary
    Onsite housing option available with adjusted annual salary

  • Job Description: Registrar

    Purpose of Position: The Registrar for IHC is the primary stakeholder of our organization’s year-round ministry of weekend camping. As such, this position will lead the effort of ensuring the experience of our weekend camping groups is excellent, with a focus on service and retention, and will plan for future growth.

    This person needs to be adaptable to technology, tools, systems, and schedules that will better serve the needs of both the organization and guests. As the Registrar, this person will go above and beyond in the booking process for our weekend guests and help to ensure they have a great experience while they are here. This includes the capacity to work within the camp’s registration system, programming, scheduling, organizational planning, and customer service.

    Reporting: The Registrar will report to the Registrar Lead.

    - Maintain the registration process of each of our weekend guest groups

    - Build and maintain relationships with partner organizations

    - Maintain consistent communication with partners and all related organizations

    - Maintain, review, and improve our weekend camp experience that meets the needs of

    our guests and fulfills our mission

    - Maintain the importance of scheduling using a calendar system that is an integral part of

    communication within the organization

    - Be responsible for incoming and outgoing phone communication with our guests daily

    - See to guest check-in, check-out, and ensure that customer service is a highlight of our guests experience

    - Collaborate with organizational leadership to communicate upcoming needs or adjustments.

    - Support all registration and customer service opportunities with the Registrar Lead

    - Seasonal support roles to serve around 6th Grade Camp, Gold Rush Days, and Summer Camp

    Preferred Background and Experience:

    - 4-year degree preferred

    - Active membership in a local church

    - Experience serving at a resident camp preferred

    - Capacity to manage and learn organizational technology, systems, and procedures

    - Familiarity with contract preparation and calendar management

    - Ability to lead and manage yourself and set priorities that align with the organization

    - Training and/or experience in compliance management and maintenance

    - Training and/or experience in customer service

  • Job Description: Summer Staff

    Purpose of Position: Summer Staff are the primary stakeholders of our organization’s preparation and execution of our summer programs. As such, these positions will lead the way in being servant leaders by providing excellent service to our campers and customers. This person needs to be adaptable to technology that will better serve the needs of both the organization and guests. As a summer staff member, this person will work closely with the IHC team to give our campers and customers an excellent experience; this will require communication skills, the ability to work an active outdoor job, humility, emotional intelligence, and a drive for excellence.

    Summer Positions:

    Rec. Staff- This role leads and facilitates the activities and games at summer camp and supports the summer camp program.

    Emcee: This role supports the Rec. Staff and the Program team, by leading games and being the voice upfront.

    Teamster Counselor- This role leads and disciples high school campers.

    Counselor- This role leads and disciples elementary and middle school campers.

    Healthcare Supervisor/Camp Nurse Assistant- This role assists the Camp Nurse in all of their duties.

    Worship Lead- This role will lead campers and counselors in contemporary worship and camp songs

    A/V Specialist: This role supports the activities and programs with the setup and operation of A/V equipment.

    Photography and Social Media- This role will assist in the gathering and posting of digital media during summer camp.

    Depending on the position, the dates required will vary. All positions will be utilized between June 9th, 2026 and August 14th, 2026

  • Purpose of Position: The Seasonal Housekeeping Staff for IHC is a stakeholder of our organization’s first impression and on-site experience to our customers and campers. As such, this position will have ownership in preparing and maintaining those facilities in use for guest groups. This person needs to be adaptable to scheduling and tools that will better serve the needs of both the organization and guests. As maintenance and housekeeping staff, this person will actively serve in the physical preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of facilities. This includes the capacity to work within cleaning, organizing, inventory management, trash pick up and use of industry tools. 

    Reporting: The Seasonal Housekeeping Staff will report to the Housekeeping and Residents Lead.

  • Purpose of Position: The Food Service Staff for IHC is a stakeholder of our organization’s food preparation and service to our customers and campers. As such, this position will have ownership in all things meal-related for guests. This person needs to be adaptable to scheduling and systems that will better serve the needs of both the organization and guests. As food service staff, this person will provide leadership support and oversight to the food service lead. This includes the capacity to work within ordering, food service permitting, and general industry standards. 

    Reporting: The Food Service Staff will report to the Food Service Lead.

    - Seasonal Support roles with Maintenance/Housekeeping and Facilities/Grounds staff in non-peak food service times.
